THE BATTLE OF MOSHCHUN
The village of Moshchun was targeted by Russian forces to drive their seizure to Kyiv. They tried to cross the Irpin river from the west in Hostamel. They were unsuccessful until Russian paratroopers were able to land on the east. For weeks the village was torn apart by fighting. It was an upscale custom build neighborhood in a pine forest.

The foreign soldiers fighting with Ukraine did so from this house. As the walls collapsed, they continued to battle. Neighbors we interviewed said they were grateful to the foriegn fighters for joining the Ukrainian forces to force the Russians out of Moshchun.
THE DESTRUCTION OF THE VILLAGE
Across the community, house after house was beyond repair. Lifetime efforts from people of Kyiv reduced to rubble. The Russians failed and were driven out but not without significant destruction to a quiet and pleasant community.
